Military Cemeteries – and care

Posted: August 19, 2011 in Cemeteries -USA, For Cemetery Officials, For Genealogists

As we head back to the cemeteries where our loved ones are buried for another holiday or just a visit.  Please remember the military cemeteries in your visit.

Oftentimes, they are forgotten by people in ones haste to visit Uncle Earl or ones Great Aunt Margie.  The cemeteries are around the world and even if you do not have a loved one buried in one – please take the time to visit anyway.

I have often seen graves that do not have a visitor.  Outside of a caretaker or a moment taken by a caring soldier that is visiting – very few family visitors visit.

To those that have served – please honor those who gave ones life by saluting them at the flagpole  You will show them in one moment you care for all of them.

While it may not have been a tradition at a place like this – it should be.
